This question although having a straight answer is one of the most difficult to answer. For a Christian to answer this question he has to be sincerity with oneself is deeply needed, I have come to understand that a Christian would and could easily give up anything, smoking, drinking, fornication, clubbing, after new birth BUT MUSIC, and that’s is cos we feel is somewhat harmless to “The FAITH”, but is it? Or is it not?, I would try here to give some reason showing how secular music is a very dangerous tool used by the enemy to control the happenings in the life of the believer. First of all I would like to refer to my earlier write up…. What is reality and state here again tha the spiritual is MORE REAL than the physical. Having said that it is also important for EVERY CHRISTAIN TO KNOW that in life THERE ARE NO GREY AREAS, you are either ALL for God or NOT for God Mat 12:30 Whoever is not with me is against me; and he who does not take part with me in getting people together, is driving them away.For those of us (believers) that think we can be in God and also enjoy the things of the world please consider this scrioptureRev 3:16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. – I would have brought up the scriptuire that says love God hate the world and love the world= Hate God, but that would drive us to another topic entire.So what am I trying to establish here, as long as it is not done in FAITH – ANYTHING INCLUDING MUSIC IS SINRom 14:23 For whatever does not proceed from faith is sin. – and we no this is faith in chrsit as the son of God.The second point that I would like to point out here is taken from jamesBefore I quote that scripture u have to understand that the bible is not situation conditional, or emotionally conditional….. the bible is LAW… do u understand the characteristics of a law? It means that regardless wherever u are and whatever u feel if the parameters are met it would give u the stated outcome…. Take for example the law of gravity, regardless ofwhere u are – as long as u are under the sky (parameter 1) and u get up (2) without anything to keep u up (3) = you must come down (the stated outcome). Jas 3:5 Even so the tongue ……….Pro 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.What am I trying to state here, THE TONGUE IS WHAT CONTROLS YOUR LIFE, and the spirit world doesn’t care how u say whatever u say, be it in tears, joy, whisper, laughter, SINGING, as long as it is said it goes ahead to prepare that wish u have said, so for those of use who just “flow” with the lyrics of this circular guys have a second tot and listen carefully to what they say and see how much damage u can cause urself, also check deeply into the life of such musician and find out if what he is saying is what he is seeing, for those who justify just “loving” the rhythms (I was once in those shoes) have u ever wondered the meaning of AMEN – it simply means I AGREE, that’s why when the pastor prays for the congregation we all say I AGREE to what he has said for me, so also when u play secular music u are saying I AGREE with what he is saying whether u understand what he is saying or not, so when u begin to experiences strange things in ur life u wonder how they came – after all u never said them – but u agreed to them, please we have to understand that there is no “am not sure” when it comes to decision making that relates to ur very life, its either I agree with that or I don’t, simple put, not sayin NO is sayin YES and not saying YES is sayin NO.And my last point would is similar to what I just got off…. Apart from just wat they say, have u taken time to investigate the beliefs of this “superstar”, the causes he sponsors – not just the ones they want u to see- u have to understand that when a weed gets nutrient from the ground it keeps grown, for every money u spend on their music, u shld no that it has a domino effect, and that is increasing the senseless killin of youth, increasing the rate of wanna bes thugs and gangsters and most importantly instead of drawing ppl to Christ its sinking them deep in the world, imagine Pddy signing up a deal with playboy…with whose money…. UR MONEY, imagine we invest that in Gods work, which is better? Paul says all things is lawful to me BUT if eatin meat will make my brother backslide then I wont eat it, please lets not just live for ourselves but Christ should live thru us.Comments are welcomed and if u have anything against this or to add to this….
